As the plant is permanently closed and employees were released on Voluntary Separation Scheme (VSS), other than few no one resides in the township.
On 11 January 2008 the central government of India had announced in a press conference that it will revive the FCI- Ramagundam with an investment of Rs 35,000 million. This decision was in response to repeated pleas from the state government due to shortage in fertilizers. The factory will be refurbished with change in machinery wherever necessary to use gas as fuel instead of naphtha. On revival FCI will provide employment to about 10,000 people.
