Fender Aerodyne Jazz Bass - Fender Aerodyne Medium Scale Jazz Bass (Japan Non Export Model)

Fender Aerodyne Medium Scale Jazz Bass (Japan Non Export Model)

This version of the Aerodyne Jazz is similar to the other Japan non-export models, except that it has two (DiMarzio-designed, but manufactured in Japan) J-style pickups instead of a stock P/J pickup configuration. It also has a medium 32"-scale length (406 mm) which plays just like a regular Jazz Bass with a capo at the first fret. The medium scale permits the use of slightly heavier gauge strings while retaining the same "feel" (string tension) as a standard long 34"-scale bass. Production of this model began in 2003 (prior to the introduction of the USA model) and the earliest examples had the model number AJB-90M/DJ. In 2007, the medium scale bass acquired the model number AJB-M/DJ and was offered in Black, Olympic White and Gun Metal Blue. Discontinued in early 2008.

Famous quotes containing the words jazz, export, bass, scale and/or medium:

It seems to me monstrous that anyone should believe that the jazz rhythm expresses America. Jazz rhythm expresses the primitive savage.
    Isadora Duncan (1878–1927)

The rumor of a great city goes out beyond its borders, to all the latitudes of the known earth. The city becomes an emblem in remote minds; apart from the tangible export of goods and men, it exerts its cultural instrumentality in a thousand phases.
In New York City, U.S. public relief program (1935-1943)

How are we to know that a Dracula is a key-pounding pianist who lifts his hands up to his face, or that a bass fiddle is the doghouse, or that shmaltz musicians are four-button suit guys and long underwear boys?
In New York City, U.S. public relief program (1935-1943)

I own I never really warmed
    To the reformer or reformed.
And yet conversion has its place
Not halfway down the scale of grace.
    Robert Frost (1874–1963)

Jealousy is indeed a poor medium to secure love, but it is a secure medium to destroy one’s self-respect. For jealous people, like dope-fiends, stoop to the lowest level and in the end inspire only disgust and loathing.
    Emma Goldman (1869–1940)
