FA Women's Community Shield

The FA Women's Community Shield is the female football equivalent of the FA Community Shield in the male football. It is the first competitive match of the football season, although it is seen by most fans as a showpiece event. The match itself is competed between the Champions of the FA Women's Premier League and the winners of the FA Women's Cup.

Famous quotes containing the words women, community and/or shield:

Both men and women are fallible. The difference is, women know it.
    Eleanor Bron (b.1934)

As blacks, we need not be afraid that encouraging moral development, a conscience and guilt will prevent social action. Black children without the ability to feel a normal amount of guilt will victimize their parents, relatives and community first. They are unlikely to be involved in social action to improve the black community. Their self-centered personalities will cause them to look out for themselves without concern for others, black or white.
    James P. Comer (20th century)

Vice is its own reward. It is virtue which, if it is to be marketed with consumer appeal, must carry Green Shield stamps.
    Quentin Crisp (b. 1908)
