Envoy Enterprises

envoy enterprises (also known as 'envoy'), located in the Lower East Side neighborhood of Manhattan, is a leading contemporary art gallery with a commitment to new artistic talent. envoy enterprises was founded by Jimi Dams in 2005 and was the first gallery to abandon its prime location in Chelsea for the Lower East Side in 2007.

Home to major cross-over exhibitions, envoy enterprises functions as a think tank. The gallery represents a cross-generational group of international artists with multi-disciplinary practices and works for the long-term development of each artist’s career. envoy enterprises acts as a liaison to international galleries and museums, places works in collections, creates an historical archive and acts as a public space in which it offers its visitors challenging exhibitions. Noteworthy artists represented here include Desi Santiago, Narcissister, Alex Rose and Luc Claus amongst others.

Aside from the exhibitions in its gallery space, envoy enterprises presents video and performance artists as well as emerging bands both in the gallery and previously at Home Sweet Home, which was located at their 131 Chrystie Street location. envoy enterprises relocated to 87 Rivington Street in Manhattan's Lower East Side in 2012. Known for showcasing music acts such as Scott Matthew, Jay Brannan, Americans in France, Whore’s Mascara and Kind Monitor, envoy enterprises encourages artists and public alike to "think outside of the box." Examples of this include former fashion designer Christoph Broich's sculptural installations and the exploration of video and film by artists such as Simon Henwood (through Róisín Murphy, Kanye West) and Raphael Neal (through Salim Kechiouche, Scott Matthew, Chris Garneau).
