Famous quotes containing the words interior design, interior and/or design:

Interior design is a travesty of the architectural process and a frightening condemnation of the credulity, helplessness and gullibility of the most formidable consumers—the rich.
    Stephen Bayley (b. 1951)

The work of art, just like any fragment of human life considered in its deepest meaning, seems to me devoid of value if it does not offer the hardness, the rigidity, the regularity, the luster on every interior and exterior facet, of the crystal.
    André Breton (1896–1966)

I begin with a design for a hearse.
    For Christ’s sake not black—
    nor white either—and not polished!
Let it be weathered—like a farm wagon—
    William Carlos Williams (1883–1963)
