Ek Nath Dhakal

Ek Nath Dhakal ( एकनाथ ढकाल ) (born 13 August 1974) is a Nepalese politician, belonging to the Nepal Pariwar Dal, and a leader of the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification. He is the head of the Nepal chapter of the Universal Peace Federation.

In the 2008 Constituent Assembly election, the Nepal Pariwar Dal won 1 seat through the Proportional Representation vote. The party selected Dhakal as its representative in the assembly.

Dhakal received his formal education from the Tribhuvan University in Kathmandu, where he studied political science for two years followed by three years of study in sociology and anthropology.His public life started as an independent student leader. He also received many honours from both home and abroad including “Youth of the Year” award with gold medal on 2007. Dhakal is widely involved in Peace-building, Education, Politics, Youth Empowerment, International Relations and Human Rights as well as various projects related to Orphan Children, Underprivileged People and Environment Protection. He served on various parliamentary committees such as Security Special Committee, International Relations and Human Rights Committee and Constitutional Committee.Dhakal is married with Mrs. Blessie Gadon Dhakal. On 2009, Dhakal made a statement on the agenda entitled Towards Global Partnerships at the Second Committee of the United Nations 64th session of the General Assembly.

On October 31, 2010, the magazine Nepal Weekly published by Kantipur Publications criticized Dhakal for the arrangements surrounding Vice President Parmanand Jha's visit to South Korea on October 7, 2010. Dhakal serves in the Constitutional Committee of the Constituent Assembly and was nominated as cabinet Minister of the Government of Nepal on May 16, 2012. Dhakal is a first Minister for Co-operatives and Poverty Alleviation Ministry of the Government of Nepal.Dhakal brought Korean Little Angels performance to Nepal to promote Korea - Nepal friendship.Dhakal is a convener of South Asia Peace Initiatives (SAPI) and an active Nepalese young leader involving in Nepal's ongoing peace process. Minister Dhakal introduces Co-operatives Policy first time in Nepalese Co-operatives history. Minister Dhakal told at the International Summit of Co-operatives in Quebec, Canada that Nepalese legislation clearly integrates three economic sectors—the public sector, the private sector and the cooperative movement. Dhakal who is also a president of Nepal Family Party generates a term of "Head-wing Democracy" in the political arena which is influencing thousands of intellectuals and especially youths in Nepal. Dhakal met with Afghanistan Vice President Karim Khalili on december 2012 as a part of south Asia peace initiatives. In January 2013 Dhakal told international community that Nepalese political leaders are capable to short-out political deadlock of the country. On January 24, 2013;Dhakal met with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Mr. Rajnath Singh in New Delhi, India.Dhakal launches "Nation and People First" campaign to solve political crisis of the country through his Nepal Family Party's decision on January 26, 2013.Dhakal undertake poverty alleviation project from Gorkha district with aim to uplift 25.2% poor people of his country.Dhakal is in favor of multicultural state with identity while maintaining social harmony.On February 2013, Dhakal's name was brought out by Nepalese media as possible candidate of Prime Minister to lead Nepal's consensus government for the purpose of holding election.
