Apart from the Egra municipality, the subdivision contains rural areas of 51 gram panchayats under six community development blocks: Bhagawanpur–I, Bhagawanpur–II, Egra–I, Egra–II, Pataspur–I and Pataspur–II. There is no urban area under these six blocks.
