East Greenbush Central School District

The East Greenbush Central School District is a public school district located in East Greenbush, New York. Approximately 5,000 pupils are enrolled in the seven schools in grades K–12. After a hectic waiting period, the Board of Education appointed as superintendent Dr. Angela Guptill, who was preceded by the terminated Dr. Rebecca Furlong. Guptill was acting superintendent for the length of time when the Board of Education was looking for a replacement for Dr. Furlong. Instead of finding a superintendent elsewhere, the Board of Education decided to keep Dr. Guptill as superintendent.

Famous quotes containing the words east, central, school and/or district:

The majority of the men of the North, and of the South and East and West, are not men of principle. If they vote, they do not send men to Congress on errands of humanity; but while their brothers and sisters are being scourged and hung for loving liberty,... it is the mismanagement of wood and iron and stone and gold which concerns them.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

The Federal Constitution has stood the test of more than a hundred years in supplying the powers that have been needed to make the Central Government as strong as it ought to be, and with this movement toward uniform legislation and agreements between the States I do not see why the Constitution may not serve our people always.
    William Howard Taft (1857–1930)

By school age, many boys experience pressure to reveal inner feelings as humiliating. They think their mothers are saying to them, “You must be hiding something shameful.” And shucking clams is a snap compared to prying secrets out of a boy who’s decided to “clam up.”
    Ron Taffel (20th century)

Most works of art, like most wines, ought to be consumed in the district of their fabrication.
    Rebecca West (1892–1983)
