Dwyer Middle School - Boiler Room Haunting

Boiler Room Haunting

Multiple students have been known to claim that Dwyer's boiler room is haunted. However, few students have been known to physically visit the boiler room, although it is the subject of many dares and boasts about the schoolyard. The few students who have visited the boiler room were unable to stay for more than a few minutes, having been "forced" from the room by the ghost. Students have also told ghost stories about the haunting of the school by other ghosts besides Ethel Dwyer and the boiler room ghost, but these claims have never been proven and are considered to be urban legends by a small amount of students and the majority of the staff.

Famous quotes containing the words room and/or haunting:

    I cannot halt
The tread, the beat of it, it is my own heart,
The walls of my room rise, it is still night,
I have woken again before the word was spelt.
    Philip Larkin (1922–1986)

But those rare souls whose spirit gets magically into the hearts of men, leave behind them something more real and warmly personal than bodily presence, an ineffable and eternal thing. It is everlasting life touching us as something more than a vague, recondite concept. The sound of a great name dies like an echo; the splendor of fame fades into nothing; but the grace of a fine spirit pervades the places through which it has passed, like the haunting loveliness of mignonette.
    James Thurber (1894–1961)
