Dusty's Trail - Trivia

Trivia

  • Jeannine Riley and Lori Saunders were both previous performers on Petticoat Junction, which ran on CBS from 1963 to 1970. Riley was the original actress to portray Billie Jo Bradley and Saunders was the second actress to play Bobbie Jo Bradley, Billie Jo's younger sister. However, neither actress appeared in the same episode. Riley performed on the show from 1963 to 1965, and Saunders didn't enter the series until 1965–1966 television season. Riley was replaced on the series by Gunilla Hutton for the third year (1965–1966) and for the last four seasons (1966–1970), by Meredith MacRae. Saunders debuted on the show as a replacement for Pat Woodell in 1965, and remained with the series until its cancellation in 1970.
  • Dusty's Trail was not direct spin-off of CBS's Gilligan's Island (1964–1967), as not one character was carried-over. Nonetheless, the characters were analogous to the Gilligan's Island's cast. Dusty was a replay of Gilligan (Denver); Mr. Callahan a replay of The Skipper (Alan Hale, Jr.); likewise for the others- Mr. and Mrs. Brookhaven a Thurston Howell, III and Eunice "Lovey" Howell (Jim Backus and Natalie Schafer) ditto; Lulu as a reworked Ginger Grant (Tina Louise); Betsy as the girl next-door type as per Mary Ann Summers (Dawn Wells); and Andy the company brain was akin to The Professor (Russell Johnson).

Famous quotes containing the word trivia:

Pop artists deal with the lowly trivia of possessions and equipment that the present generation is lugging along with it on its safari into the future.
    —J.G. (James Graham)

The most refined skills of color printing, the intricate techniques of wide-angle photography, provide us pictures of trivia bigger and more real than life. We forget that we see trivia and notice only that the reproduction is so good. Man fulfils his dream and by photographic magic produces a precise image of the Grand Canyon. The result is not that he adores nature or beauty the more. Instead he adores his camera—and himself.
    Daniel J. Boorstin (b. 1914)
