Transport
Durgapur is well connected via roads. It is the preferred gateway to the Rarh Region, which do not have much developed transportation infrastructures. NH 2 and SH 9 passes through the city. Panagarh-Morgram Highwqay originates from Panagarh, a suburb of Durgapur and joins with NH 60 near Dubrajpur, thus making Durgapur, also a major road junction and an important destination for transport towards North Bengal and North East India. SH 9 joins with NH 60 and provides the connectivity of Durgapur with Orissa and South India. It is also well connected by rail to major parts of India such as Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Gorakhpur, Indore, Bhopal, Jabalpur, Nagpur, Guwahati, Amritsar, Jaipur, Lucknow, Kanpur etc. Long distance buses connect Durgapur to places like Jamshedpur, Dhanbad, Bokaro Steel City, Siliguri, MaldaTown etc.
