Dunloy FC - 2008/2009 Season

2008/2009 Season

Dunloy have had a good season all round, with a new pitch laid and the opening of new changing rooms at the tullaghans road ground. Under the management of Paul Baird, the brother of Fulham FC player Chris, the team has performed very well all season. With a mixture of youth and aged players the team climbed as high as second in the league, they also recorded a 3-2 victory over runaway leaders Moss-Side on their home turf and also drew 0-0 in Dunloy with the champions. After some great displays Dunloy FC look certain to finish in their highest position since joining the "Ballymena and Provincial" league. With a cup game to come against Coleraine Crusaders that will be Dunloy's chance of revenge after a heavy defeat to the Coleraine team in the league. On this day Dunloy were missing up to seven regular players with veteran John Boyle and Charlie Scott both having to line out, both who are involved in the running of the club and not in playing football.

Famous quotes containing the word season:

Compare ... the cinema with theatre. Both are dramatic arts. Theatre brings actors before a public and every night during the season they re-enact the same drama. Deep in the nature of theatre is a sense of ritual. The cinema, by contrast, transports its audience individually, singly, out of the theatre towards the unknown.
    John Berger (b. 1926)
