DU Beat

DU Beat is an independent student newspaper created by the students of Delhi University, India. Founded in 2007, DU Beat reaches out to more than 40,000 students from 20 colleges across Delhi University through its online and print edition.

The colleges mapped by the newspaper include Lady Shri Ram College for Women, St. Stephen's College, Delhi, Sri Venkateswara College, Kirori Mal College, Shri Ram College of Commerce, Hindu College, University of Delhi and Miranda House.

Recent activities include an online petition to reintroduce the BA English (Hons) entrance exam.

DU Beat started off in October 2007 as an independent student newspaper. Since then it has come a long way, addressing students’ issues and reporting news and views regarding Delhi University. It's print and online edition provide all the news and opportunities that students might need.

It is the only independent newspaper in Delhi University. The print edition gets published weekly and is distributed amongst 15 colleges and its online edition - through Facebook and Twitter, overcomes the distribution barriers which increases its reach within Delhi University and beyond.

The team consists of over 50 students across colleges of Delhi University. DU Beat is entirely run by students, therefore it reflects the vibes and the happenings in the DU campuses. DU Beat's stories and news coverage have got attention from principals in several colleges. Several suggestions made by us are put in practice by these colleges to improve their standards.
