Famous quotes containing the words police force, south, wales, police and/or force:

To insure the adoration of a theorem for any length of time, faith is not enough, a police force is needed as well.
    Albert Camus (1913–1960)

There are two places in the world where men can most effectively disappear—the city of London and the South Seas.
    Herman Melville (1819–1891)

I just come and talk to the plants, really—very important to talk to them, they respond I find.
Charles, Prince Of Wales (b. 1948)

It is human agitation, with all the vulgarity of needs small and great, with its flagrant disgust for the police who repress it, it is the agitation of all men ... that alone determines revolutionary mental forms, in opposition to bourgeois mental forms.
    Georges Bataille (1897–1962)

If writers were too wise, perhaps no books would get written at all. It might be better to ask yourself “Why?” afterwards than before. Anyway, the force from somewhere in Space which commands you to write in the first place, gives you no choice. You take up the pen when you are told, and write what is commanded. There is no agony like bearing an untold story inside you.
    Zora Neale Hurston (1891–1960)
