The game has the distinction of being the only with game in the series with an original score during the 32 bit era. The music was composed and arranged by Kenji Yamamoto and includes three vocal version tracks by Hironobu Kageyama and Shin'ichi Ishihara. Famous quotes containing the words dragon and/or ball:

    The Powers whose name and shape no living creature knows
    Have pulled the Immortal Rose;
    And though the Seven Lights bowed in their dance and wept,
    The Polar Dragon slept,
    His heavy rings uncoiled from glimmering deep to deep....
    William Butler Yeats (1865–1939)

    But the ball is lost and the mallet slipped long since from the hands
    Under the running tap that are not the hands of a child.
    Louis MacNeice (1907–1963)
