Similarly Titled Songs
Some websites erroneously claim the song has earlier been recorded by The Pretty Things in 1964; in fact, that "Don't Bring Me Down" was a different song, written by Johnnie Dee, that was a Top 10 hit in the UK.
There also are two subsequent songs by the same title: the pop hit "Don't Bring Me Down" by Electric Light Orchestra in 1979, and an R&B/dance hit "Don't Bring Me Down" by Spirits in 1995.

Famous quotes containing the words similarly and/or songs:
“Commitment, by its nature, frees us from ourselves and, while it stands us in opposition to some, it joins us with others similarly committed. Commitment moves us from the mirror trap of the self absorbed with the self to the freedom of a community of shared values.”
—Michael Lewis (late 20th century)
“People fall out of windows, trees tumble down,
Summer is changed to winter, the young grow old
The air is full of children, statues, roofs
And snow. The theatre is spinning round,
Colliding with deaf-mute churches and optical trains.
The most massive sopranos are singing songs of scales.”
—Wallace Stevens (18791955)
