Done Lying Down - Band History

Band History

Done Lying Down played their first show in London in 1993. At the end of a prolific year, they signed their first record deal with Abstract Sounds. Their first EP, Heart Of Dirt received superlative critical acclaim, including being awarded Single Of the Week from New Musical Express.

In November 1994 the band performed on BBC's The Evening Session. The group recorded 4 Peel Sessions over the course of their career and were featured at number 10 on John Peel's Festive 50 for 1994.

In 1997 the band worked with Grammy Award-winning producer, Garret Lee, to record a B-side for the Chumbawumba release Amnesia, the follow-up to their smash hit Tubthumping.

Famous quotes containing the words band and/or history:

    Firm, united, let us be,
    Rallying round our Liberty;
    As a band of brothers joined,
    Peace and safety we shall find.
    Joseph Hopkinson (1770–1842)

    In nature, all is useful, all is beautiful. It is therefore beautiful, because it is alive, moving, reproductive; it is therefore useful, because it is symmetrical and fair. Beauty will not come at the call of a legislature, nor will it repeat in England or America its history in Greece. It will come, as always, unannounced, and spring up between the feet of brave and earnest men.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)
