Clark then became vice president of his family's business, the Prudential Overall Supply Co. of Costa Mesa, California, and eventually became the company's president until his death. A resident of Fountain Valley, Clark died in Huntington Beach, California at age 65 after suffering a heart attack while jogging. He was survived by his wife Dorothy and their eight children, as well as 10 grandchildren.
