Digital Advantage
The Digital Advantage is an educational program in the Sunnyside Unified district that allows students in the district to earn free brand new laptops. With many sponsors such as Cox Cable, provided the money and support to do this. The Sunnyside Unified School District Governing Board Members required that all freshmen must achieve what's called the 4 A's:
- Attitude - No suspensions or referrals.
- Attendance - 98% attendance. No unexcused absences.
- Activity - joining extra-curricular activities. Ex: sports, clubs.
- Academics - 2.5 GPA or higher.
Only 2 cohort classes were awarded free laptops ranging from 2 years that this program has begun. The first class was 2012 following the Class of 2013. Both events took place at Centennial Hall at The University of Arizona.
