On 8 March 2008, "Denial" debuted at number 64 on the UK Singles Chart based on digital downloads from Change. The song jumped to number 34 the following week and peaked at number 15 two weeks later. "Denial" has sold approximately 90,000 copies in the country. The song debuted at number 50 on the Irish Singles Chart and jumped 21 places to number 29 the following week. It reached a peak of number 18 the for the issue dated 20 March 2008 and eventually spent ten weeks in the chart.
"Denial" performed most notably in the Czech Republic, where it fluctuated for weeks on the chart before peaking at number one for two consecutive weeks. The single spent a combined 62 weeks on the chart. "Denial" debuted at number seven in Austria and reached number four two weeks later. It spent almost half a year on the chart, and ended as the 43rd highest-selling single of 2008 in Austria. "Denial" reached number eleven in Germany, number fourteen in Switzerland and number twenty in Hungary. The song reached number 21 in Slovakia. "Denial" peaked at number 40 in Denmark for two weeks, and also charted in the Netherlands at number 61.
