Football Career

Delson began playing in Brazil with Grêmio Esportivo Inhumense, moving to Portugal in 2001 to represent S.C. Salgueiros (by then in the top level). He made his debut in the competition on 16 September 2001, playing 90 minutes in a 1–0 home win against S.C. Braga.

As the team from Paranhos folded after the 2003–04 season, Delson joined Rio Ave FC, where he became an instant first-choice. After relegation in 2005–06, he contributed with 24 games and two goals to the side's return to the first division two seasons after.

In late June 2009, Delson moved to Greece's Larissa FC. In January of the following year, however, he returned to Portugal, helping lowly S.C. Olhanense retain its top flight status, and moving to the Algarve side permanently at the season's end.

Famous quotes containing the words football and/or career:

... in the minds of search committees there is the lingering question: Can she manage the football coach?
    Donna E. Shalala (b. 1941)

The problem, thus, is not whether or not women are to combine marriage and motherhood with work or career but how they are to do so—concomitantly in a two-role continuous pattern or sequentially in a pattern involving job or career discontinuities.
    Jessie Bernard (20th century)
