Dead Hollywood Stars

Dead Hollywood Stars is an electronic music project of the Canadian musician John Sellekaers.

The sound of Dead Hollywood Stars has been described as cinematic and luxurious. Because of its use of guitars and nostalgic atmospheres journalists have compared it to the work of Italian composer Ennio Morricone. Others have depicted it as a pop project with surreal and dusty ambience.

Famous quotes containing the words dead, hollywood and/or stars:

    And crossed the dark defile at last, and found
    At Roncevaux upon the darkening plain
    The dead against the dead and on the silent ground
    The silent slain—
    Archibald MacLeish (1892–1982)

    To say “I accept” in an age like our own is to say that you accept concentration-camps, rubber truncheons, Hitler, Stalin, bombs, aeroplanes, tinned food, machine guns, putsches, purges, slogans, Bedaux belts, gas-masks, submarines, spies, provocateurs, press-censorship, secret prisons, aspirins, Hollywood films and political murder.
    George Orwell (1903–1950)

    The bay-trees in our country are all withered,
    And meteors fright the fixèd stars of heaven.
    The pale-faced moon looks bloody on the earth,
    And lean-looked prophets whisper fearful change.
    Rich men look sad, and ruffians dance and leap;
    The one in fear to lose what they enjoy,
    The other to enjoy by rage and war.
    These signs forerun the death or fall of kings.
    William Shakespeare (1564–1616)
