Dark Angel was an American thrash metal band from Los Angeles, California. Their over-the-top style (extremely fast, heavy and lengthy songs with lots of tempo changes, lyrics and extended instrumental parts) earned them the nickname "the L.A. Caffeine Machine".
After releasing four full-length albums and touring extensively throughout the 1980s and early 1990s, Dark Angel disbanded in 1992. They decided to reform ten years later, however, Ron Rinehart's vocal issues after an accident forced them to cancel plans to tour further. The band has been on an indefinite hiatus since then.
Famous quotes containing the words angel (band), dark and/or angel:
“Ive almost gained my heavnly home; My spirit loudly sings;
The holy ones behold they come, I hear the noise of wings.
O come, angel bandband Come and around me stand.
O bear me away on your snowy wings, To my immortal home.”
—T. Haskell, minister and hymn-writer. Published in Christian Harmony. Angel BandBand l. 5-8.
“And in these dark cells,
packed street after street,
souls live, hideous yet
O disfigured, defaced,
with no trace of the beauty
men once held so light.”
—Hilda Doolittle (18861961)
“The Angel of Death has been abroad throughout the land, you may almost hear the beating of his wings.”
—John Bright (18111889)
