...While he was one of the boxers on the 3rd season of the boxing reality TV series, The Contender, which premiered on September 4, 2007 on ESPN. He received a second shot at a world title when he fought Antonio Tarver on December 1, 2007 for the IBO Light Heavyweight belt, but lost by way of technical knockout in the 4th round. He was scheduled to fight Roy Jones, Jr. in the fall of 2010, but Jones pulled out of the fight, citing a hand injury.
Santiago fought Danny Green in Perth on July 25, 2012. Green won by technical knockout in the fifth round.
