Danny Davis (snowboarder) - Injury

Injury

Danny Davis suffered blows to the pelvis and spine caused by the misuse of an All Terrain Vehicle. He was in contention for the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver. Davis was riding extremely well and had scored ahead of Shaun White. Davis was unaware of his number one qualifying spot for the 2010 Games that he went out and partied hard just knowing he had gotten a 1st place finish. While intoxicated he had driven an All Terrain Vehicle into an iron gate. His lumbar vertebrae two, three, and four were fused together and screws have been placed throughout his shattered pelvis.

Famous quotes containing the word injury:

Both of us felt more anxiety about the South—about the colored people especially—than about anything else sinister in the result. My hope of a sound currency will somehow be realized; civil service reform will be delayed; but the great injury is in the South. There the Amendments will be nullified, disorder will continue, prosperity to both whites and colored people will be pushed off for years.
    Rutherford Birchard Hayes (1822–1893)

To kill a human being is, after all, the least injury you can do him.
    Henry James (1843–1916)

A great proportion of architectural ornaments are literally hollow, and a September gale would strip them off, like borrowed plumes, without injury to the substantials.... What if an equal ado were made about the ornaments of style in literature, and the architects of our bibles spent as much time about their cornices as the architects of our churches do? So are made the belles-lettres and the beaux-arts and their professors.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
