Notable Residents
Dalton was the birthplace and early home of George Romney in the 1700s as well as his grandson Miles Romney in the early 1800s, both are ancestors of current US-presidential candidate Mitt Romney. Dalton is also the birthplace of award-winning artist Richard T. Slone and the town in which Sky News presenter Steve Dixon and Turner Prize winner Keith Tyson grew up and attended school.
