Cue TV

Cue TV is a regional television station in New Zealand which started in October 1996 as Mercury Television. The original majority shareholder in Mercury TV was the CRT (Combined Rural Traders) co-operative, before the station was sold to Family Television Network and then West Media 175, a company based in the United Kingdom with New Zealand broadcasting assets. In 2003, the company was sold to General Manager Tom Conroy who is also Managing Director for the station. The majority of its programming is from the Southern Institute of Technology (SIT2LRN). Making it a nation wide local educational television service. Most of the programming on CUE TV is locally produced, most other programming is from Deutsche Welle. The channel is available nation wide, on Freeview, Sky and Telstra.

As of July 2012 it will be New Zealand's only nation-wide locally-produced educational television service, due to the closing of TVNZ 7. Because Cue TV is still a devoted Southland broadcaster, it is not often referred to as a National public service.

Famous quotes containing the word cue:

Good marriages are built on respectful disagreement and back-and-forth cooperation. We learn to cue each other, fill in for each other, forgive each other’s fumbles, celebrate small victories. We revel in the realization that we’re working on something bigger than both of us, and that parenthood is not only incredibly challenging but also incredibly enriching.
    Susan Lapinski (20th century)
