Croy Line

The Croy Line is a suburban railway route linking Glasgow and Croy in Scotland. It is part of the Strathclyde Partnership for Transport network.

Following completion of the project to reopen the line to Alloa to passenger services on 19 May 2008, Croy Line services continue alternately to Alloa and Dunblane.

The route is not electrified, although the Edinburgh Glasgow Improvement program consultation suggests its electrification by 2015. Passenger services are operated by First ScotRail.

Famous quotes containing the word line:

There’s something like a line of gold thread running through a man’s words when he talks to his daughter, and gradually over the years it gets to be long enough for you pick up in your hands and weave into a cloth that feels like love itself. It’s another thing, though, to hold up that cloth for inspection.
    John Gregory Brown (20th century)
