Congressional Districts Of Colorado

The State of Colorado currently has seven congressional districts from which U.S. Representatives are elected to the United States House of Representatives. In accord with the United States Constitution, the U.S. House of Representatives is apportioned by population as enumerated by the decennial census conducted as of April 1 of each year wholly divisible by ten (e.g., 2000, 2010, 2020...) Each state must then designate congressional districts by equal population to be effective for the congressional election two years after the decennial census (e.g., 2002, 2012, 2022...) In the 112th Congress, the Colorado delegation is composed of three Democratic and four Republican U.S. Representatives.

Famous quotes containing the words districts and/or colorado:

Cities need old buildings so badly it is probably impossible for vigorous streets and districts to grow without them.... for really new ideas of any kind—no matter how ultimately profitable or otherwise successful some of them might prove to be—there is no leeway for such chancy trial, error and experimentation in the high-overhead economy of new construction. Old ideas can sometimes use new buildings. New ideas must use old buildings.
    Jane Jacobs (b. 1916)

I am persuaded that the people of the world have no grievances, one against the other. The hopes and desires of a man who tills the soil are about the same whether he lives on the banks of the Colorado or on the banks of the Danube.
    Lyndon Baines Johnson (1908–1973)
