Colt Cabana - Other Media

Other Media

Aside from his wrestling, Colton is arguably best known as the host of the Art of Wrestling podcast. Begun in 2010, the show features Colton interviewing wrestlers, out of character, about their career.

Colton, along with CM Punk, is mentioned in alternative rapper Kidd Russell's single "I'll Do One". Russell also performed the "Copa Cabana" remix that Colton used as entrance music for his Colt Cabana persona.

In December 2010, Colt appeared as "The Bomb" alongside Glenn "Disco Inferno" Gilbertti's character "Joey Mayhem" collectively known as "The Goon Squad" on a spec TV pilot entitled, Ghost Trek: The Kinsey Report. The pilot won "Best Comedy" at the Fright Night Film Fest on July 24, 2011, but has not been picked up by any network.

In 2011, as Colt Cabana, Colton toured the United States doing standup comedy alongside fellow wrestler Mick Foley. He also performs improv comedy, mostly in the Chicago area, with his comedy troupe "Keyfabe" (a play on the term "kayfabe"). Since June 2011, he and Chicago comedian Marty DeRosa have been writing and starring in Creative Has Nothing For You a YouTube show mocking the relationship between wrestlers and wrestling writers. The show is directed and edited by Chicago filmmaker Michael Sanchez of Life Jazz Films.

Colton also appeared in Morgan Spurlock's documentary Mansome, helping Shawn Daivari shave.

Famous quotes containing the word media:

The media have just buried the last yuppie, a pathetic creature who had not heard the news that the great pendulum of public conciousness has just swung from Greed to Compassion and from Tex-Mex to meatballs.
    Barbara Ehrenreich (b. 1941)

Today the discredit of words is very great. Most of the time the media transmit lies. In the face of an intolerable world, words appear to change very little. State power has become congenitally deaf, which is why—but the editorialists forget it—terrorists are reduced to bombs and hijacking.
    John Berger (b. 1926)
