Collins Green Railway Station - Passenger Train Service

Passenger Train Service

During July 1922, most eastbound L&NWR trains stopping at the station on weekdays were local services from St Helens Shaw Street station to Earlestown or Warrington Bank Quay station, but three were through trains from Liverpool Lime Street station to Manchester Exchange station. Three years after the L&MSR was nationalised within British Railways, Collins Green station was closed on 2 April 1951.

Famous quotes containing the words passenger, train and/or service:

Every American travelling in England gets his own individual sport out of the toy passenger and freight trains and the tiny locomotives, with their faint, indignant, tiny whistle. Especially in western England one wonders how the business of a nation can possibly be carried on by means so insufficient.
    Willa Cather (1876–1947)

If we train our conscience, it kisses us as it bites.
    Friedrich Nietzsche (1844–1900)

Let the good service of well-deservers be never rewarded with loss. Let their thanks be such as may encourage more strivers for the like.
    Elizabeth I (1533–1603)
