Cold Water (album)

Cold Water is the debut album from Australian blues and roots singer Mia Dyson and was released in May 2003.

Cold Water highlights Mia Dyson's song writing and musicianship and the dynamic collaboration between Mia, Dean Addison and Carl Pannuzzo. Apart from the vocals, Mia plays electric, baritone, acoustic and lap steel guitars on the album as well as a little piano.

Cold Water also introduces guest musicians including Steve Hesketh (Sime Nugent/Dan Brodie) on Hammond and piano, Sime Nugent and Kylie Auldist on backing vocals and Jaimi Faulkner on guitar.

Included on the album is a beautiful track "St Kilda Lament" written by Ashley Davies, played solo on acoustic guitar.

The album was recorded by Lloyd Barratt in a mud brick farmhouse just outside Daylesford and mixed by Craig Pilkington at Audrey Studio in Richmond.

Cold Water was nominated at the 2003 ARIA Awards for 'Best Blues and Roots' Album

Famous quotes containing the words cold and/or water:

The poisoned rat in the wall
Cuts through the wall like a knife,
    Then blind, drying, and small
    And driven to cold water,
Dies of the water of life....
    Allen Tate (1899–1979)

We’ve only just begun to learn about the water and its secrets, just as we’ve only touched on outer space. We don’t entirely rule out the possibility that there might be some form of life on another planet. Then why not some entirely different form of life in a world we already know is inhabited by millions of living creatures?
    Harry Essex (b. 1910)
