Founding
The Buckeyes were established in 1942 in Cincinnati, Ohio as the Cincinnati Buckeyes (Ohio being the Buckeye State). The following season, owner Wilbur Hayes moved the team to Cleveland, Ohio, where they played their games at League Park.
