Recent Success

In 2011, CES successfully promoted and/or co-promoted six boxing events. On April 1, Lundy defeated former Venezuelan Olympian Patrick Lopez to capture the then-vacant NABF lightweight title on ESPN's Friday Night Fights telecast in front of a capacity crowd at Foxwoods Resort Casino.

On July 29, Wach knocked out Kevin McBride, the last man to defeat Mike Tyson, to capture the WBC International heavyweight title at Mohegan Sun Casino. Later that year, CES brought professional boxing back to Rhode Island for the first time in 11 months on October 7 at Twin River Casino. Biosse fought to a draw against John Mackey in the main event.

CES kicked off 2012 by announcing the launch of its Thursday Night Fight Series at Twin River Casino, which begins March 22. CES will also return to ESPN on March 30 from the MGM Grand Theater at Foxwoods Resort Casino when Lundy defends his title against Dannie Williams of St. Louis, Missouri. Ayala will defend his title against Hector Camacho Jr. in the co-feature; the vacant NABF middleweight title will also be on the line.

Famous quotes containing the word success:

I fear the popular notion of success stands in direct opposition in all points to the real and wholesome success. One adores public opinion, the other, private opinion; one, fame, the other, desert; one, feats, the other, humility; one, lucre, the other, love; one, monopoly, and the other, hospitality of mind.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

The success of great scholars and thinkers is commonly a courtier-like success, not kingly, not manly. They make shift to live merely by conformity, practically as their fathers did, and are in no sense the progenitors of a nobler race of men.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
