Christmas With The Kranks - Production

Production

Some exteriors were shot on location in Vancouver and Los Angeles. Interiors were filmed at Culver Studios and Downey Studios. Because of weather concerns, the original plan to film in the Chicago suburbs was nixed in favor of constructing the Hemlock Street set in the parking lot of a former Boeing factory.

The soundtrack features many holiday standards, including "Jingle Bell Rock" by Brenda Lee; "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" by Billy May & His Orchestra with vocal by Alvin Stoller; "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" by Eddie Dunstedter; "White Christmas" by Dean Martin; "Frosty the Snowman" by Steve Van Zandt; "Blue Christmas" by Elvis Presley; and "The Christmas Song" by Ella Fitzgerald. Also featuring music by Joey Bonzo.

Famous quotes containing the word production:

The society based on production is only productive, not creative.
    Albert Camus (1913–1960)

The production of obscurity in Paris compares to the production of motor cars in Detroit in the great period of American industry.
    Ernest Gellner (b. 1925)

The growing of food and the growing of children are both vital to the family’s survival.... Who would dare make the judgment that holding your youngest baby on your lap is less important than weeding a few more yards in the maize field? Yet this is the judgment our society makes constantly. Production of autos, canned soup, advertising copy is important. Housework—cleaning, feeding, and caring—is unimportant.
    Debbie Taylor (20th century)
