The chiptune scene was the subject of a documentary called Reformat the Planet by 2 Player Productions. This film was an official selection at the 2008 South by Southwest. The premier took place on March 8, 2008 at the Dobie Center.
Scott Pilgrim vs. the World features chiptune versions of the Universal sound mark, with an 8-bit production logo, and of the song "Threshold," performed by Brian LeBarton, during the ending credits.
