Children of the Corn IV: The Gathering is the fourth film in the Children of the Corn horror series. It was released in 1996, and directed by Greg Spence. The film stars Naomi Watts and Karen Black.
The first in the series to go straight to video, Children of the Corn IV is considered by some to be a standalone film, as the plot is unrelated to the previous films. However, a deleted scene features Jane and Rosa Nock telling Grace (Naomi Watts) and Donald (Brent Jennings) how the children called Josiah by a different name: "He Who Walks Behind The Rows" - thus making this movie fit in with the rest, if the deleted scene is taken into account.

Famous quotes containing the words children, corn and/or gathering:
“If our entertainment culture seems debased and unsatisfying, the hope is that our children will create something of greater worth. But it is as if we expect them to create out of nothing, like God, for the encouragement of creativity is in the popular mind, opposed to instruction. There is little sense that creativity must grow out of tradition, even when it is critical of that tradition, and children are scarcely being given the materials on which their creativity could work”
—C. John Sommerville (20th century)
“The corn is as high as an elephants eye,
And it looks like its climbin clear up to the sky.”
—Oscar Hammerstein II (18951960)
“A man is a method, a progressive arrangement; a selecting principle, gathering his like to him; wherever he goes.”
—Ralph Waldo Emerson (18031882)
