Forbes magazine recognized it as the “Best Managed Oil-and-Gas Company” in 2007 and it was named to Fortune Magazine’s 100 Best Companies to Work For List in 2008 through 2012. In 2012 it ranked #18, the highest ranked company in Oklahoma and the energy production industry.Chesapeake is ranked #5 in the large company category, which compares companies with more than 10,000 employees. The company was named the 2009 Energy Producer at the Year by Platts Global Energy Awards and received the Industry Leadership Award for its role in championing natural gas as the fuel of the future. The company was also a finalist in the Deal of the Year, CEO of the Year and Community Development Program of the Year categories and is only one of two companies to receive multiple awards. It was the second time in three years that Chesapeake had been named Platts’ Energy Producer of the Year.
