Charlie Mc Carthy (hurler)

Charlie McCarthy (born 1946) is an Irish former hurler who currently plays as a left corner-forward for the Cork senior team.

McCarthy made his first appearance for the team during the 1965 championship and was a regular member of the starting fifteen until his retirement after the 1980 championship. During that time he won five All-Ireland winners' medals, nine Munster winners' medals, four National League winners' medals and three All-Star awards. In 1978 McCarthy captained the team to a third successive All-Ireland title.

At club level McCarthy is a double All-Ireland medalist with St. Finbarr's. In addition to this he has also won three Munster medals and seven county club championship medals.
