Certificate of Advanced Study

A Certificate of Advanced Study (CAS), also called a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study (CAGS) or a Certificate of Advanced Professional Studies (CAPS), is a post-Master's academic certificate designed for practitioners who seek a continuing education program to enhance their professional development in areas such as education and library science. It is a seven-year program akin to a Specialist degree. For example, School Psychologists must earn a CAGS or Ed.S degree (both Specialist level degrees) in order to practice in a school setting.

Famous quotes containing the words certificate, advanced and/or study:

God gave the righteous man a certificate entitling him to food and raiment, but the unrighteous man found a facsimile of the same in God’s coffers, and appropriated it, and obtained food and raiment like the former. It is one of the most extensive systems of counterfeiting that the world has seen.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

But generally speaking philistinism presupposes a certain advanced state of civilization where throughout the ages certain traditions have accumulated in a heap and have started to stink.
    Vladimir Nabokov (1899–1977)

A little skill in antiquity inclines a man to Popery. But depth in that study brings him about again to our religion.
    Thomas Fuller (1608–1661)
