Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice (CeMAP) refers to the financial advice exam held by 80% of mortgage advisors in the UK and is hence considered the benchmark exam for the mortgage advice industry.
To attain this certification, a candidate must pass a series of three examinable modules:
- CeMAP 1 – UK Financial Regulation
- CeMAP 2 - Mortgages
- CeMAP 3 – Assessment of Mortgage Advice Knowledge
The CeMAP qualification meets requirements set by the Financial Services Skills Council (FSSC).
There is also an Advanced Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice (Adv CeMAP), which CeMAP holders may later take.
Famous quotes containing the words certificate, mortgage, advice and/or practice:
“God gave the righteous man a certificate entitling him to food and raiment, but the unrighteous man found a facsimile of the same in Gods coffers, and appropriated it, and obtained food and raiment like the former. It is one of the most extensive systems of counterfeiting that the world has seen.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
“We are playing with fire when we skip the years of three, four, and five to hurry children into being age six.... Every child has a right to his fifth year of life, his fourth year, his third year. He has a right to live each year with joy and self-fulfillment. No one should ever claim the power to make a child mortgage his today for the sake of tomorrow.”
—James L. Hymes, Jr. (20th century)
“I think that parents ought to get some idea of how the so- called experts have changed their advice over the decades, so that they wont take them deadly seriously, and so that if the parent has the strong feeling, I dont like this advice, the parent wont feel compelled to follow it. . . . So dont worry about trying to do a perfect job. There is no perfect job. There is no one way of raising your children.”
—Benjamin Spock (b. 1903)
“The astonishment of life, is, the absence of any appearance of reconciliation between the theory and the practice of life.”
—Ralph Waldo Emerson (18031882)
