Central City Register-Call

The Central City Register-Call, also called the Weekly Register-Call, is the oldest newspaper in Colorado. It is published by Aaron Storms and David Spellman in Black Hawk, Colorado. The newspaper was originally known as the Miners' Register (also Daily Miners' Register), which was changed to the Central City Register (also called Daily) on July 26, 1868, and after an 1870s merger it has been known as the Register-Call.

Famous quotes containing the words central and/or city:

In a large university, there are as many deans and executive heads as there are schools and departments. Their relations to one another are intricate and periodic; in fact, “galaxy” is too loose a term: it is a planetarium of deans with the President of the University as a central sun. One can see eclipses, inner systems, and oppositions.
    Jacques Barzun (b. 1907)

    A million people—manners free and superb—open
voices—hospitality—the most courageous and friendly young men,
City of hurried and sparkling waters! city of spires and masts!
City nested in bays! my city!
    Walt Whitman (1819–1892)
