Catholic Church Extension Society - Extension Magazine

Extension Magazine

In 1906, just six months after founding Catholic Extension, Father Francis Clement Kelley envisioned a new way to communicate the needs of the Church in frontier America to Catholic homes across the United States. Thus, Extension magazine was born, with Father Kelley serving as the original writer, editor and publisher. Since then, Extension magazine has developed in a collection of articles—illustrating the history of the Catholic Church in America and telling the moving stories of spirit-filled Catholics across the United States. A now quarterly publication, Extension magazine is the voice of Catholic Extension’s mission to strengthen the Church in America’s poor mission dioceses.

Famous quotes containing the words extension and/or magazine:

Predatory capitalism created a complex industrial system and an advanced technology; it permitted a considerable extension of democratic practice and fostered certain liberal values, but within limits that are now being pressed and must be overcome. It is not a fit system for the mid- twentieth century.
    Noam Chomsky (b. 1928)

It is as absurd to say that [due to motherhood] all women shall be denied the suffrage, as it would be to deny all men the suffrage, because some are liable, periodically, to inflammatory rheumatism, delirium tremens, or financial failure.
Anonymous, U.S. women’s magazine contributor. The Revolution (February 17, 1870)
