Cathedral of The Good Shepherd - Cathedral Restoration Fund

Cathedral Restoration Fund

The Cathedral of the Good Shepherd is appealing for donations for the Cathedral Restoration Fund, which aims to restore the cathedral premises urgently as there are cracks and other structural faults in the building and to build several new facilities. This is due to Land Transport Authority (LTA) works during the construction of the Bras Basah MRT station, Singapore Management University (SMU), which have affected the structural integrity of the cathedral, necessitating the installation of structural braces in response to large cracks which have appeared on the building. Despite the majority of the damage being caused by the LTA works, it is understood that they have not sufficiently compensated the Cathedral. The cathedral needs around S$40 million, of which S$8 million has been raised as at December 2011, according to a board tracking the fund raising progress outside the main entrance of the cathedral.
