Carsten Niebuhr

Carsten Niebuhr or Karsten Niebuhr (March 17, 1733 Lüdingworth – April 26, 1815 Meldorf, Dithmarschen) a German mathematician, cartographer, and explorer in the service of Denmark, is renowned for his participation in the 1761 Danish Arabia Expedition.
