Car of The Year Japan

The annual Car of the Year Japan award, also known as Japan Car of the Year (or JCOTY), is given to newly released or redesigned vehicles released to the Japanese car buying market from November 1 of the previous year to October 31 of the current, and each award spans two calendar years. The award has been presented since 1980. The most recent recipient of the award, for 2012–2013, is the Mazda CX-5, a compact crossover SUV produced by Mazda.

The supervisory board is made up primarily of Japanese automotive journalists.

The award is not associated with the more recent Automotive Researchers' & Journalists' Conference (RJC) RJC Car of the Year award, which has been issued since 1992..

Famous quotes containing the words car, year and/or japan:

Fifty years from now, it will not matter what kind of car you drove, what kind of house you lived in, how much you had in your bank account, or what your clothes looked like, But the world may be a little better because you were important in the life of a child.
—Anonymous. Quoted in The Winning Family, by Louise Hart, ch. 1 (1987)

... in all cases of monstrosity at birth anaesthetics should be applied by doctors publicly appointed for that purpose... Every successive year would see fewer of the unfit born, and finally none. But, it may be urged, this is legalized infanticide. Assuredly it is; and it is urgently needed.
    Tennessee Claflin (1846–1923)

I do not know that the United States can save civilization but at least by our example we can make people think and give them the opportunity of saving themselves. The trouble is that the people of Germany, Italy and Japan are not given the privilege of thinking.
    Franklin D. Roosevelt (1882–1945)
