Captain Courageous (comics) - Publishing History

Publishing History

Captain Courageous appeared in Banner Comics from issue #3 to #6 (Sept. 1941 - March 1942; this issue was actually renamed Captain Courageous Comics). That was the end of his first run, as there was no issue #7. He then appeared in the Ace title Four Favorites, from issue #5-28 (May 1942 - March 1946). After that, he fell into the public domain.

In 2008, Captain Courageous appeared in flashback in Project Superpowers #0. The one-shot Project Superpowers: Chapter Two Prelude stated that the Captain will appear as part of a group called The Super-Mysterymen.

Famous quotes containing the words publishing and/or history:

While you continue to grow fatter and richer publishing your nauseating confectionery, I shall become a mole, digging here, rooting there, stirring up the whole rotten mess where life is hard, raw and ugly.
    Norman Reilly Raine (1895–1971)

I am ashamed to see what a shallow village tale our so-called History is. How many times must we say Rome, and Paris, and Constantinople! What does Rome know of rat and lizard? What are Olympiads and Consulates to these neighboring systems of being? Nay, what food or experience or succor have they for the Esquimaux seal-hunter, or the Kanaka in his canoe, for the fisherman, the stevedore, the porter?
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)
