Capital Area District Library

The Capital Area District Library (CADL) is a system of libraries in Ingham County, Michigan, United States. It was formed in 1998 by an agreement between Ingham County and the City of Lansing. It consists of thirteen libraries and a bookmobile. CADL is governed by a seven-member board, five of which are selected by Ingham County, and the remaining two are selected by the City of Lansing. The CADL also participates with the Michigan eLibrary. The Friends of the Library support the Capital Area District Library through fundraising and community outreach.

The City of East Lansing maintains a separate library system (East Lansing Public Library).

Famous quotes containing the words capital, area, district and/or library:

I should not regret a fair and full trial of the entire abolition of capital punishment.
    James Madison (1751–1836)

If you meet a sectary, or a hostile partisan, never recognize the dividing lines; but meet on what common ground remains,—if only that the sun shines, and the rain rains for both; the area will widen very fast, and ere you know it the boundary mountains, on which the eye had fastened, have melted into air.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

Most works of art, like most wines, ought to be consumed in the district of their fabrication.
    Rebecca West (1892–1983)

I view askance a book that remains undisturbed for a year. Oughtn’t it to have a ticket of leave? I think I may safely say no book in my library remains unopened a year at a time, except my own works and Tennyson’s.
    Carolyn Wells (1862–1942)
