Typical camphor reactions are
- bromination,
- oxidation with nitric acid,
- conversion to isonitrosocamphor.
Camphor can also be reduced to isoborneol using sodium borohydride.
In 2007, carbon nanotubes were successfully synthesized using camphor in chemical vapor deposition process.
