Cambridge Colts

The Cambridge Colts represent Cambridge Rugby Union Football Club (CRUFC) at U'19 level Rugby Union. They have been reinstated for the 2006/07 season, with the hope that the stars of the future will progress to the National League Squad.

The team compete in the English Colts Club Knockout Cup, the U'19 Eastern Counties Cup and they also play a range of friendlies during the season.

In the 2006/2007 Season the Colts were overall very successful, equalling the furthest progression in the National Cup by any Cambridge Colts team. The team reached the 4th Round but were knocked out by Amersham & Chiltern 15–14. They reached the final of the U'19 Eastern Counties Cup, only to lose to North Walsham in the final at West Renault Park. Other highlights included betting a University U'21 team at Grange Road 35–33 and continuing the age group's unbeaten run against local rivals Shelford throughout Youth Rugby.

In the 2007/2008 season, the team took a few games to get to know each other but after that started to put some good performances together. They reached the Second Round of the National Cup where they were knocked out by Bury St Edmunds 13–10 in a match they should have won. They have a progressed rapidly as the season has continued and are progressing well in the National Plate. The team are now in the Fifth Round (the last 16) where they have been drawn at home to Weston-Super-Mare from Somerset. The Eastern Counties group has become much tricker now that the team has lost to Bury St Edmunds in the first pool game but they are confident they can turn the situation around.
